| I publish a baseball history journal three times a year called the American Association Almanac. The focus of the journal is describing the events which defined a now-defunct baseball league which had a long history and two separate lifetimes, the American Association. I concern myself primarily with the period from 1902-52 during which the league was composed of the same eight teams: the Columbus Senators (which became the Red Birds in 1931), Indianapolis Indians, Louisville Colonels, Kansas City Blues, Milwaukee Brewers, Minneapolis Millers, St. Paul Saints and Toledo Mud Hens. My interest in grave hunting grows out of my interest in baseball history; my wife and I seek out the cemeteries containing the remains of former American Association ballplayers, such as Hugh Hill. You can read more about my publication on either of my two blogsites: [link] [link] I hope you'll take a moment to have a gander at my art as it relates to the written word. The American Association Almanac is the central focus of my life. On a more subjective level, I adore our two cats, Punkin and Peanut. |
